Assistant Coach Opportunities

Foundation Coach Accreditation
This is the starting point for all new coaches. It’s perfect for parents, teachers, or volunteers who are coaching NetSetGO or beginner teams.
The Foundation course is entirely online and covers the basics of coaching, such as planning a session, teaching skills, and creating a safe and fun environment.

Includes short learning modules and a practical understanding of coaching
Requires passing the Rules of Netball Theory Exam (70% pass mark)

Development Coach Accreditation
The next step is for those coaching at club level or with some experience wanting to enhance their skills.
The Development accreditation is a blend of online learning and a face-to-face practical workshop. It focuses on game strategies, skill progression, and understanding the athlete's development.
To enrol, coaches must already hold a Foundation accreditation.
You’ll also need to pass the Rules of Netball Theory Exam (70% or higher) and attend a workshop run by Netball WA.

Intermediate Coach Accreditation
This level is for coaches involved at the representative level or more competitive environments. The Intermediate course expands on tactical awareness, advanced skill development, and performance analysis.
Participants must hold a current Development accreditation and pass the Rules of Netball Theory Exam (80% pass rate). This level includes a full-day face-to-face workshop hosted by Netball WA.

Advanced Coach Accreditation
This level is for experienced coaches working with high-performing junior or state league teams.
It includes face-to-face sessions, detailed assignments, session plans, and an on-court assessment. You must have at least two years of experience coaching at representative 15U or similar levels and hold the Intermediate accreditation.

Delivered through workshops and mentoring
Elite Coach Accreditation
Designed for coaches in state leagues, national championships, or semi-professional levels. This is a nationally managed program with strict entry requirements, including significant coaching experience and holding an Advanced accreditation.
The course includes mentoring, video analysis, leadership, and game management strategies.

High Performance Coach Accreditation
This is the highest level and is required for coaching at the Suncorp Super Netball (SSN) level or within elite national programs.
Applicants must hold the Elite Coach accreditation and complete all modules in the three-phase High Performance program run by Netball Australia.

Reaccreditation
All coaching accreditations are valid for four years. To stay current, coaches must complete updating activities like attending workshops, mentoring, or approved PD.
Reaccreditation ensures all coaches continue to meet the evolving standards of Netball Australia and Netball WA.
