Where can I find the Illusions Netball Club Code of Behaviour?

What seasons does Illusions Netball Club play in, and how can I register?

Illusions Netball Club plays in both the Winter and Spring seasons through Swans Netball Association. Winter is our main competitive season, running from March to August, with Saturday games and weekly training. Spring is a shorter, more relaxed season from October to December, perfect for new or returning players who want a fun, social experience.

We welcome players of all ages and skill levels. Registration is done through PlayHQ, and we’ll help guide you through the process.

How do I know what court we’re playing on

What age can my child start playing netball?

Most players start through NetSetGO, Netball Australia’s official introductory program for kids aged 5 to 10.
This program focuses on fun, skill development, and team participation.

How do I register my child to play at Illusions Netball Club?

Registrations are generally done online through PlayHQ or directly through our website during the registration period. We also announce registration days on our social media platforms.

What equipment does my child need?

To get started, all they need is:

  • Proper sports shoes

  • Comfortable activewear or club uniform (purchased after joining)

  • A water bottle and positive attitude!

We’ll let you know when uniforms are available and if any additional gear is required for training.

What day and time are games played?

Most junior games are played on Saturdays, while older age groups may have midweek evening games. Training is usually held once or twice a week, and we’ll provide a schedule before the season begins.

 How much does it cost to join?

Fees vary depending on the age group and competition level but include:

  • Netball WA & Netball Australia player registration

  • Club fees (training, coaches, admin)

  • Uniforms (purchased separately if required)

Do you accept boys in your netball teams?

Yes! Boys are welcome in most junior age groups (generally up to 15 or 16, depending on competition rules). Netball WA supports inclusive participation, and we proudly support co-ed pathways where applicable.

What if my child has never played netball before?

No problem at all! We welcome beginners and have experienced coaches to help new players learn the basics in a supportive, fun environment.

How are teams selected?

We hold grading sessions at the start of the season to group players by skill level and age. This helps us ensure balanced teams and a positive experience for everyone.

We aim to keep friends together where possible, especially in younger age groups.

Who coaches the teams?

All Illusions Netball Club coaches are accredited through Netball WA’s coaching framework. Our coaching team includes passionate volunteers and experienced mentors committed to player development.

Are there opportunities to play representative or advanced netball?

Yes. Players showing strong potential and commitment may be invited to trial for representative teams, including development squads, WANL pathways, or association carnivals.

What if I want to volunteer or help out?
